Shenzhen will build two two-level underground parking lots, with a total of 730 parking spaces, at Lotus Hill Park to serve park visitors, especially during holidays and weekends.
The parking lots will begin construction after two plots of land, 20,127 square meters in total, are auctioned off between April 11 and 24. Officials with the park administration office said they hoped construction of the two parking lots could be completed in one year.
The two parking lots are located to the north and east of the Guan Shanyue Art Museum. The two lots will be connected using vehicle passages, according to the land use contract.
The Lotus Hill Park, which is located in the city center, is a popular destination for residents, especially during holidays. But they have few parking options at present.
To solve the problem, the park administration office changed its construction plan last year and built a parking lot near its western entrance last November, offering 200 parking places.
According to the construction plan, the number of parking places available will be increased to 1,200-1,300 following the completion of all the parking lots.
