| Source reveals that from the coming July, Guangzhou will have a set of standardized English and Chinese names for its public sites and roads. And now the city authority is asking the public for opinions.
The glossary covers the standard translations of roads and transportation, sanitation and medicare, sports venues, business and services and tourist sites.
The glossary, the city's effort in preparation for the 2010 Asian Games, is to reduce the bad translations which currently make foreign visitors confused or even lead to their misunderstanding of local culture.
