 People in Macao paid homage Sunday (Aug. 22) to late Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping, the chief architect of China's reform and opening up drive, to commemorate the centenary of his birth.
A film reception in the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao marked the occasion. Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region Edmund Ho Hau Wah was among the audience of 600 who saw the film.
Local newspapers also praised Deng Xiaoping's achievements and scientific theories, especially the "one country, two systems" principle, which helped both Hong Kong and Macao return to the motherland.
