THE Nanshan District Government would spend 100 million yuan (US$12.3 million) renovating Nantou Ancient City, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported Thursday. It had a history of almost 2,000 years, the report said. More than 300 relics, mostly porcelain, had been unearthed there. A provincial-level cultural relic site, the place also had many buildings built in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties. Most of the investment would be used to renovate the ancient buildings, it said. |
