Yesterday, Guangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee started theme songs campaign for the 2010 Games. Dead line of the candidate song submission is June 30, 2008. And the result will come out in September, 2008.
The candidate song is limited to only in Chinese or English. Some experts suggested earlier adding Cantonese lyrics to the theme song. While Gu Shiyang, the vice secretary general of the organizing committee said the theme song have to be in English, but other songs used in the gala can be in Mandarin or English, and the committee will consider the suggestion of Cantonese songs in the events.
