Although the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is to be held in a year, common people but not athletes may be the first to enjoy furniture designed for the Games.

On June 18th, Hong Kong Royal Furniture Holding Limited, the exclusive supplier of furniture for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, announced that the company will produce furniture of Olympic standard for common consumers.

Ma Minghui, Executive Chairman of the corporation, said that the furniture will be the same as that which will be used in sports venues and the Olympic Games Village for the 2008 Olympic Games. All the plate materials, cotton and mattresses are environmentally-friendly and specially made according to international standards. The furniture will go on the market in Guangzhou and nine other big cities in China on August 8th, one year earlier than the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
