Around 150 ancient Chinese weapons will go on display tomorrow at Curio City in Huangbeiling, Luohu District, one of the subvenue exhibitions being held for visitors to the third China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) which also opens to the public tomorrow.
The exhibition will run until May 25.
The exhibits include concealed weapons (such as arrows and darts), undergarment armor and about 100 different kinds of swords, some of which will be shown for the first time in public.
One of the swords, dubbed “finger-wrapping sword” in ancient time and was made in the Song Dynasty (960-1279), is only 1 millimeter thick and flexible enough to bend around a soldier’s waist.
The undergarment armor, made of small iron hoops, looks like and is as soft as a string vest but weighs 11 kilograms.
The pieces belong to a private collector in Shenzhen.
