While the Shenzhen Municipal Government is recruiting Hong Kong talents Aug. 8, a high-tech promotion fair will be held in the SAR on the same day to attract business partners.
The fair organizer, Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Hi-Tech Venture Park, will present 143 projects, covering electronic information, optical electronics, environmental protection, biomedicine, new materials and new energy.
Founded in 2000, the park provides an incubator for overseas Chinese students to start their own businesses in Shenzhen. It has so far attracted more than 200 enterprises set up by overseas Chinese students, who returned from more than 20 countries including the United States, Canada, Germany and France.
"We have already sent letters to interested companies and investors and are now negotiating with some of them," said Liu Haitao, an official of the venture park.
Liu said intending investors preferred more practical high-tech projects with relatively low financial input and quick returns.
The fair will be the first official high-tech promotion for Shenzhen's returned overseas Chinese.
The organizer hopes it will open up more channels for investors and high-tech startups and explore more business opportunities for young entrepreneurs returning from abroad.
