Guangzhou customs said that the value of Hong Kong products enjoying the duty-free treatment of CEPA (Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement) totaled nearly 39 million US dollars in the first half of this year. The tax exemption is around 20.6 million yuan in total. However, this amount only accounts for less than 2% of the total goods imported from Hong Kong. In the first part of this year, over 2.7 billion US dollars worth of Hong Kong goods were imported.
Guangzhou customs said the opening of the Pan-Pearl River Delta Regional Economic and Trade Cooperation promoted the implementation of CEPA. Meanwhile they would take some further measures to create a more favorable environment.
